Manfeild Pomeroy Event

All Rally entrants are invited to participate in an event which will be held at the Manfeild Circuit in Feilding on 21 January 2012. The event will be run to the Pomeroy Trophy handicap formula to determine the ultimate touring car and motorcycle. The formula balances vehicle characteristics against the following timed tests for rally entrants:

• ¼ mile standing start sprint
• ¼ mile flying start sprint
• Precision braking test

• Slalom test
• Target laps in specified time

There will also be a road touring section.  Everyone has a chance of winning

There will also be demonstration laps by some very historic racing cars

Requirements for Rally entrants to participate in the event are as follows:

• Vehicle Identity Card, as per event entry
• Approved Crash Helmet (Limited loan helmets available)
• Flame Proof Overalls or Cotton Overalls
• Vehicles may be subject to scrutineering before competition

Rally entrants may participate in a vehicle other than their Rally mount so long as it has a VIC. If the vehicle is not road licensed its inability to run in the road section would however render the entrant out of contention in the competition

The maximum number of vehicles that can be accommodated is 120 and entries will be closed once this number is reached

Entrants who do not hold a race license should leave the ‘Optional Speed Event’ section blank (this classification no longer applies) and simply complete the ‘Manfeild Speed Event’ field in the ‘Entry Fees’ section. As confirmation of your entry in the Pomeroy event you will be sent a VCC day license to allow participation in the event. Event details will be provided direct to competitors on receipt of entry details.

While organisers have endeavoured to minimise the risks associated with closed circuit events, entrants should be aware that most vehicle policies do not cover this kind of use, If in doubt, check with your insurer.
